Okay, I'm really bored right now and decided it would be a good time to create a babble page. Don't ask me why, I don't know, and it would probably be a good idea not to dive too deep into the issue.
I suppose, however, that since this is an anime website I should at least babble about anime. Tonight, and probably for the next few months, I want to talk about Orphen. Have you ever come across an anime series that you think is really kick ass but everyone else in the world sees it as lame or sucky. You see to me Orphen has just the right amount of everything you could possibly want in a series. There's action, comedy, romance, and tragedy all mixed up into one. Let me explain.
The hero, Orphen, isn't your usual starting whimp. He's a real freak'in badass from the word go. Cold, yet open enough to create an endearing quality about him (and handsome to boot)so you don't have to waste a bunch of time waiting for him to come come across a power up, something I refer to as the Parn Complex (Record of Lodoss). Cleo an Magic (I know, not right spelling) allow for good humor in the right places. The romance between Orphen and Cleo is down played so you get more then just the glances but pulled far enough out into the open that you can catch on and root for them the whole time. Then, of course, there's Leuki and who can't help but love the blue furball?
Okay, there are a few glitches, like some overly dramamtic scenes and stuff with Volcan and Dortin that you'd wish the editors had cut out but that isn't too bad. Yes, the soundtrack isn't to great but come on, I watch a lot of anime and few titles actually have an all around good soundtrack. Besides, while it might not be the kind of soundtrack you'd listen to like say, now, on your own, it fits almost perfectly with each scene and moment. And the climatic scene with Cleo and Orphen near the end? By Heaven I've watched that more times then I've watched the very end.
I know. You'd wish I'd shut-up about Orphen right now but this IS a babble page. I'm suppose to get annoying. To be perhpas a little more serious I'm currently waiting to get my hands on the first nine episodes of Orphen Revenge, the sequel to Orphen. The reviews haven't been too great and that really has me worried. It shouldn't since I don't generally agree with most reviews anyway, but man I'm nervous. Especially when I read from someone that the character personalties were totally different and that Cleo lost her feelings for Orphen. Talk about sucky. I swear, if Orphen is killed at the end or he and Cleo end up with anyone but each other I'm gonna be more then just a little pissed. Granted the relationship isn't played on much but it IS there and well, I am a girl. Enough said right?
Ha, ha, ha. Okay, seriously though. If you're reading this and you have seen Orphen Revenge, please email me and let me know what you thought about it and give me some clues to what's going on. I really like the first series and if the second one is THAT bad I'd just assume forget it exists and be happy with what I've got. Care to help?
I suppose I could give you some backround on myself, you know like the 'About the webmaster' pages you see everywhere but...that would take some fun out of the whole idea of a babbling page and honestly, I live a pretty dull life. Wouldn't intrest you at all. Hmmm...I guess this is getting kinda long and I should wrap it up. Maybe I'll go watch Orphen yell at Cleo again and go to bed with sweet dreams. I did mention that I liked the series right?
